Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church Wedding | Carolyn & Brett

One year ago, Carolyn and Brett got married in a sweet, intimate ceremony at the church Carolyn grew up in. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, it was a day full of love and laughter. April in Minnesota can be fickle, so Carolyn told me she was prepared for any kind of weather, saying “there’s been a snowstorm that weekend for the last two years,” but we lucked out with a 60° day! Even though outside wasn’t fully in bloom yet, we had no shortage of color to play with. Since the wedding was the week after Easter, the church was still fully decorated—all the flowers at the altar just had to stay up a few extra days! The stained glass windows were absolutely stunning and served at the backdrop to some of my favorite bridal portraits I’ve ever taken (and the fact that Carolyn’s veil had been worn by three other women in her family was just the icing on the cake).

After the ceremony, Carolyn and Brett celebrated by opening their gifts, sharing cake, and catching up with all their guests. They moved out to Denver right after the wedding and have since adopted the sweetest pup! Happy anniversary, my friends! I was so honored to document your day 💜
